Our software provides a major improvement for investors using options. First of all, in addition to provisions for entry of bond, trust and other investments, the program allows the entry of both stock positions and option positions so that they show up adjacent to one another. In this way the investor can instantly see if a stock position is related to an option position.
The program automatically finds the prices of both the stock positions and the option provisions, and computes gains or losses on each separately, so the investor can make a decision about selling or holding either or both positions. One small item that is of great value is that each option position also shows the price of the underlying stock position, a necessary piece of information not available in brokerage statements.
If a put or call position goes "in the money" that position is marked with orange color. This gives an instant notification that consideration of some action should be taken. If all of the premium is out of a short position, the position turns green. This is often an indication that the short position should be bought back (at a nominal price) and a new position rewritten for a new premium.
A position coming up for expiration soon (the amount of time is set by the user) turns red, indicating that immediate attention should be given to it.
Other areas of the program show current dividends, and compute the return on both cost and current value.
The program allows for management of different portfolios, and the investor can show all of the positions at once, or by separate portfolio.
The user will find a number of other excellent features making this program a simple way to keep track of investments.
